Bio: Upon graduating from college, I desired to enter the medical profession.After an internship with University of Rochester, I decided that it was not the career for me. I then entered into a teacher certification plan with the University of Houston and started my teaching career with North Forest ISD at Smiley High School.I completed my master’s degree at the University of Houston, and promptly started my doctorate at Texas Southern University.Through this transition I found myself grounded in the infrastructure of Houston Independent school district as a 8th grade Science Teacher.After five years in the classroom I worked with Project GRAD Houston as an Academic Coach in Title 1 schools to help students gain entry into college.In my free time I teach courses at Houston Community College, and work in the ministry with my husband.I have two wonderful children by the names of Elbert and Eboni Reed.
